Remember when I said I was going to update my blog with a photo every day from Cancun? Well, I suppose I had lofty goals. Obviously, that hasn’t happened. However, the first five days here at our first location were heavenly. Internet wasn’t free, so we didn’t pay. And I had no reception on my phone, so I couldn’t check in that way. I was, for all intents and purposes, unplugged. And it was (and still is) fantastic.

Traveling with a pack of friends is always more fun than traveling alone. Even if you don’t meet them until you arrive to your destination. But the crew gathered at Azul Beach Hotel for Brian and Jordann’s wedding was a fun one. And our days were spent lounging poolside, then oceanside. Ordering margaritas, cheese quesadillas, and nachos until we thought we might explode. If Josh and I disappeared, you would likely have found us here:

When we weren’t taking an afternoon nap on the hanging bed, we were standing waist-deep in the turquoise water soaking in the sun. Although, I will say, doing that at night is a little creepy when you see a dark grey cloud swim by, illuminated by moonlight, that proves to be a sting ray.
Two days ago, the last of the Kearns wedding party departed for the trip home to Oregon. After Sunday’s wedding, and Monday’s day-after shoot, I have hundreds of photos to comb through. But, let’s be honest, I don’t want to sit inside downloading photos while the Caribbean sun beckons me. So, off I go to eat some breakfast. Just my man and me. And then maybe a few hours of laying by the water, book in one hand, margarita in another. And maybe, just maybe, a long walk down the beach. Because we can. And because we have nothing else to do.
Until next time, I’ll leave you with this teaser from the wedding featuring a smiling Brian who rallied harder than anyone I’ve seen. But that’s another story for another day. Happy Wednesday!
