We’ve had a parade of newborns on the blog over the last few weeks, so I thought “why not add one more?” I was in Portland this week and had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Troy, just six days old, for his newborn portrait session. He was a perfectly content little baby, only fussing occasionally before quickly calming down.
When I arrived he was wide awake, taking in the world quietly. After a quick snack, he fell asleep easily only protesting some of the shots with a little accident. Or two. Or three. Actually, come to think, of it I lost count. All I know is Mom was down to her last white shirt by the end of it, and both Mom and Dad had been “loved on” equally.
As the rain fell outside, we set to work for a couple of hours. Right as I had said “Ok, I think we’ve got it all” and began putting my camera away, I looked up to see that Dad had laid down on the bed, and pulled Troy close for a quick snuggle. The unposed photograph is my very favorite of our morning together.
And the end result is the perfect combination of new family lifestyle bliss, and carefully posed newborn yumminess.
Welcome to the world, Troy. I’m so glad to know you.
Happy Sunday, friends!

Amy- you look so happy and he is PERFECT!!! Thanks for sharing Love and hugs
