I photographed this gorgeous family on the lawn outside their oceanfront condos at Wailea Elua Village a couple weeks ago. Their session was bumped up two nights in anticipation of an impending storm that turned out to be a lot of bark and no bite. (That’s often the case around here!) It had been dark and cloudy all day, and as soon as my feet touched the grass to begin the session, the sun came out brilliantly in try Hawaiian fashion. This family of 15 was a dream to photograph. The kids all thought I was hilarious (which always helps), and the adults were are comfortable and extremely photogenic. So my job was easy!
Josh and I are good friends with Dave and Liz, the proud parents of the chubby little four month old. We were part of the same small group in Bend before we moved and we had the pleasure of meeting Frankie for the first time at the session. I was truly torn the second I saw him. Everything in me wanted to drop the camera and grab him and chew on his chubs. But I remained professional (and snuck in a few kisses between shots).
The next evening, Josh and I met their little family of three for a bottle of wine and another Hawaiian sunset. And we sat there catching up until the sun was long gone and the night was pitch black.
We just love when friends come to our little island to visit us. And we love it even more when they bring their precious little babies with them. Enjoy!
