  • "If I am bound to the belief that God is in control of the cosmos, and miracles can and do happen, then there is no 'hypothetical situation' wherein God's ability to perform miracles through the faithful actions of the merciful ceases to be a possibility."

Joshua wrote the above words years ago, though they have new meaning to us as a community of family and friends seeking to live out that same belief and praying for the faithfulness to see the possibility of his miraculous healing realized. Thank you for joining us.

Joshua was diagnosed in early November 2011 with stage IV lung cancer (adenocarcinoma), present in his lungs, liver, spine and adrenals. Here you will find information regarding his care and condition, as well as opportunities to join with the legions of loved-ones seeking to support him and his family. Links are below, along with posts containing the most recent updates.

Joshua and his family have made manifest the love and power of God in their lives in countless ways. It is our privilege to be a part of God's greater work of redemption in this as well.

Pray for Peace

While coming from Joshua’s site the title might lead you to think about war and world peace (which would be wonderful) but it’s actually a request for inner peace and calm as we face him coming home again.  Today was a rather anxious day for him as new symptoms seem to keep popping up.  In particular were body twitches…enough to wake him up which is frightening after having had a seizure.  He’s also having pain on his left side and a little numbness which he hasn’t had, light headedness etc.  So while we were able to tag some of them with some of the meds he’s on and coming off of (side effects) being in the hospital seems to give a little more comfort andf safety.  They switched his pain med and he’ll only have been on full dose 1 day before coming home, if he comes tomorrow which is loosely planned.

But we also ended the day with the decision to change oncologists, which is a real disappointment to all of us, but for some reason this time around (he was Rick’s Oncologist and we had a very good experience with him) there has been tension from the first meeting with him in the hospital after Joshua’s seizure.  And it seems to be growing instead of lessoning, so because we are dealing with so much stress already, having to deal with additional stress where we were hoping to find support and help is just too much for all of us right now, including Joshua (and he’s willing to go the extra mile with most everyone giving the benefit of the doubt)  but of all of us, he’s the one who needs to feel calm, safe, and non stressed.  So the decision was made and we’ll get some good advice as to whom to transfer to.  He’s a good man, but for some reason just not for us at this time.

So please pray for a smooth transition home, and a good fit for a new oncologist.  It’s late again, and time to go to bed.  Hope all is well in your worlds and you’re beginning to enjoy the Christmas Season.

Love to you all,

Kristi
