This sweet family reached out to me for some family portraits in Wailea Maui while they were here. But, just like me, their hearts are also split between Hawaii and Oregon. His parents live in Bend (my hometown) and they visit there at least once a year.
It was their daughter’s first time to Maui, and the joy her free-spirit exuded was palpable! She’s only two years old, and likely won’t remember anything from this trip. But I had the honor of providing some photographs to help create the memory for her years down the road.
She danced and twirled and skipped freely on the beach as the sun came up. And I chased after her, photographing those candid moments that only two-year-olds provide. And then we scooped her up onto Dad’s shoulders for a couple of candid-posed portraits. And then, when she needed to run free again, I had Mom cradle her brand new baby belly for some pregnancy announcement photos. And squeezed in a couple of quick portraits with Mom and Dad. The light on this Wailea beach was particularly gorgeous that morning. Here’s a peek at our time together:
